I’ve seen it too often…during my 10 years as a CPG Marketer…during my 10 years working in the Agency world…and now as the head of a National Agency Search Firm:

Lack of Alignment Clustering Up a Search for a New Agency

Before you start any kind of search – whether it’s on your own or with a search firm like ours – make sure everyone at the table agrees on what your needs are, what your goals are, and what you’re looking for in a new agency partner.

If you use a search firm and they’re worth anything, they will take you through the process of alignment.  They will interview key constituents and stakeholders.  They will force resolution of issues that could prove problematic later on if not resolved now.  They will document and gain approval on the ultimate direction the search will take before any calls are made or conversations are had with prospective Agencies.

So what does this mean for you?

It’s simple.  If you feel the need for new agency help, make sure those above you with some influence in the process are of the same mind.

If you need a stable of questions to share with others, give us a call.  We would be happy to share the Scope of Search document we use to help you make sure you’re getting at the right issues before you start.
