When searching for a new agency, make sure you have a good handle on what the agency’s practices are relative to their social media management programs. If you have the agency handling all your outreach in the social space you better darn well be sure that they have good controls and aren’t going to fall over the edge like Redner Group did (see article).
I know advertising is an emotional business and I applaud the agency that is so passionate about their client’s business that they would stand tall for their well being. But there are lines that can’t be crossed – especially with the run-a-muck nature possibilities of the social space.
So when you look, look carefully and ask the tough questions – or find someone who can help do it for you.
